NetMap Pro offers multiple export formats to fit different needs:
| Format | Best For | Where to Find |
|---|---|---|
| PDF Report | Client handoff, closeout documentation | Devices tab → Export button |
| CSV | Spreadsheet import, data processing | Devices tab → Export button |
| Closeout ZIP | Single-file handoff bundle | Devices tab → Export menu → Closeout Pack |
| Doctor PDF | Connectivity test reports | Doctor tab → History → Export PDF |
Device Report (PDF)
The device report opens as a formatted page in a new browser tab, designed for printing to PDF. This approach lets you preview the report and customize print settings (page size, orientation, margins) before saving. It includes all devices in the project with their names, IPs, MACs, manufacturers, types, and notes.
- Go to the Devices tab and click the Export button.
- Select "PDF Report" — A new tab opens with the formatted report.
- Print to PDF — Press
Ctrl+P(orCmd+Pon Mac), select "Save as PDF" as the printer, and save the file.
The report includes:
- Project name and generation date
- Device table with all fields
- Color-coded device types
- Clean, professional formatting suitable for client handoff
CSV Export
CSV (Comma-Separated Values) export gives you a spreadsheet-compatible file with all device data. This is useful for importing into Excel, Google Sheets, or other tools.
- Go to the Devices tab and click the Export button.
- Select "CSV" — The file downloads immediately.
- Open in your spreadsheet app — Double-click the downloaded
.csvfile to open it in Excel or Google Sheets.
The CSV includes these columns:
- Device Name
- IP Address
- MAC Address
- Manufacturer
- Device Type
- Location
- Notes
- Reserved IP
Closeout Pack (ZIP)
Closeout Pack creates a single ZIP archive for project handoff. It is ideal for job folders and client deliverables.
- Go to Devices and open the Export menu.
- Select "Closeout Pack" - NetMap Pro builds a ZIP with key project exports.
- Attach to your handoff - send the ZIP to your PM, programmer, or client file system.
The ZIP includes handoff artifacts (device CSV/JSON, client handoff CSV, tech detail CSV, summary text, and router log JSON). Connection Doctor PDF reports are exported separately.
Connection Doctor Report
Export connectivity test results as a detailed report. This is separate from the device export and lives in the Doctor tab.
- Go to the Doctor tab and scroll to the Test History section.
- Check the boxes next to the test runs you want to include.
- Click "Export PDF" — A new tab opens with the formatted report.
- Print to PDF — Use
Ctrl+Pand "Save as PDF."
The doctor report includes:
- Project name and report generation date
- Timestamp for each test run
- Per-device result cards with all 7 diagnostic checks
- Color-coded pass/warning/fail indicators
- Open ports list for each device
Report Best Practices
- Name devices before exporting - "MBR Camera 1" reads better than "Unknown Device (192.168.1.101)"
- Set device types - type labels add context for clients and programmers
- Add location notes - helps the next technician find equipment quickly
- Run Connection Doctor first - include health evidence with the handoff
- Save and compare snapshots - confirm what changed before generating closeout files
- Use a single handoff package - include the closeout ZIP and (if needed) a Connection Doctor PDF for complete documentation
