The experience behind the product
NetMap Pro was not dreamed up as another generic network scanner. Richard Machemehl built it from the daily reality of walking into homes and businesses, understanding an unfamiliar network, fixing the problem, and documenting the result.
My technical career began in the U.S. Air Force, where I worked on complex aircraft systems. I founded Executive Technology Group in 2003 and have spent the years since designing, installing, and supporting audio-video systems, networking, automation, lighting, and security.
On service calls, the available network tools were useful—but incomplete. They could show me a list of IP addresses, yet the real job still lived in handwritten notes, screenshots, photos, disconnected speed tests, and memory. They were built to scan a network, not to help an AV installer finish the visit.
“I built this because the other apps out there were never designed with the AV installer in mind. This one actually is.”— Richard Machemehl
NetMap Pro brings that field workflow together. Scan the network, organize the equipment by room, collect Wi-Fi measurements, test internet and local performance, update the project while walking with a phone, save the visit, and hand the customer a branded PDF. The product is intentionally practical because it comes from practical work.
What field experience changes
Customer details are useful, but never a gate. Scan first and add the context whenever it makes sense.
Discovered Devices remains intact while Project Devices becomes the clean, editable inventory for the job.
Wi-Fi snapshots, roaming checks, internet speed, and local latency belong beside the devices they explain.
Saved projects and company-branded PDF reports turn troubleshooting evidence into a professional deliverable.
